Yup, as usual, I'm doing things backwards.
Actually, I didn't set out to do it that way, but things just sort of spiraled out of control.
In about a week, both my lovely in-laws as well as my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and nephew will all be coming for a visit and staying with us! My family is super excited about their visit, but of course we have to get the house ready to house all these guests.
I started working on cleaning up things early so I would have plenty of time to actually get around to cleaning everything I wanted to clean up. But as I was cleaning, I started to notice all these things that were really dirty; things I don't think have been cleaned since before I had Max (yes, my housekeeping skills leave much to be desired)! Things like cleaning the dust off the blinds, cleaning the dust off the fan blades, washing curtains (to get the dust off), washing down windows. Can you tell we have a big problem with dust?
So I started doing those things. And now I'm noticing all the 1000 little projects I would LIKE to get done before they come, but won't be able to. I would like to paint (Max is proving to be HORRIBLE about drawing on the walls and no matter how hard I try, he ALWAYS seems to find a stray crayon/pen/pencil/highlighter to draw with). I would like to have the carpets cleaned (because of our dust problem they are FILTHY, even though I try to vacuum regularly). I would like to figure out/buy some sort of better storage solution for all the kid's school supplies and my sewing stuff. There are many other little projects too, but I won't bother to bore you by listing them all. Suffice it to say, there is neither money enough or time enough for these things to be done before they arrive.
BUT I CAN clean, and clean I shall!
**By the way, I am only about half way through the Disney posts. I will finish them out but took a break from those for a few days to have a chance to update you all on things that are CURRENTLY happening around here.**
