She marches to the rhythm of her own drum.

Riley has always been quite the free spirit. In many ways it can often make her appear like the odd man out.

But I LOVE how carefree, confident and secure she is about herself. In a way, I wish I was more like her.

She doesn't care what anyone else thinks or if she's the only one doing something. If it makes HER happy than she is perfectly content to be the only one enjoying it.

The other day Riley went to her bedroom, got dressed and came back out. I noticed she had her dress on backwards and thought she had just absentmindedly put it on.

Here was our exchange:

Me: Riley, you have your dress on backwards.
Riley: I know. I did it on purpose.

And then she skipped off to the kitchen to play.   She never did offer to explain WHY she put it on backwards, and I didn't press the issue.

I hope she never changes.
