Poor little thing

Emmaline has caught her very first cold.

It's SO pitiful because her nose is all snuffy and runny at the same time. And just like every other baby I've ever met, she HATES having her nose wiped. It's been so hard for her to breath that she's not sleeping as well as she usually does, and she sounds like a little piggy when she's trying to nurse. She's even been whinier than usual (and if you know Emmaline, you know that she is NOT whiny about anything....she is such an easy-going little baby, never fusses when she's teething, etc.) so I KNOW that she's feeling particularly rotten.

However, I am grateful that it is JUST a cold and nothing more. She hasn't had a fever, so I know that it will run it's course and soon I'll have my happy, playful baby back.

Emmaline has also learned a few new tricks. She can now clap her hands and has started to make clicking noises with her tongue. It's so cute because if you start doing those things then she will copy you.

One trick she's learned that makes me sad is she has finally figured out how to crawl the proper way. She rarely inch-worms anymore unless she's wearing a dress that won't let her crawl because her knees get caught up underneath it. Then she'll switch over, but that's the only time I see the inch-worm anymore.
