Well, today marks the official start of yet another week. I know it's redundant to keep saying it, but I just am floored by how fast time is passing by. I mean, this is already the LAST WEEK of August. Really? It just doesn't seem like that should be so!
Tomorrow Matt will be going to a middle school here in Austin to observe what a first day of school is like. He is looking forward to seeing how the teacher he is paired with handles her first day with a new class. Of course Matt is still hoping that on Monday the school district will lift the hiring freeze and the school he's going to will just so happen to need another math teacher.....a boy can hope, right?
Adrianne is continuing to make good strides in reading. She's already been able to read several short little books and everyday she is getting better at sounding out the words she isn't sure of. Riley is still working on remembering the sounds that all the letters make. I know she's not going to be reading any time soon, but I'm still proud of her for the progress she has made.
Emmaline continues to pull up on things. She's getting quick at doing it too. I have to admit, it is so funny to see someone so little standing up on her own. The other day, Matt even took her by the hands and let her "walk" while holding onto his fingers. She took several goofy, wide gait steps, but she was certainly trying to shuffle her legs as best she could!
