Today Adrianne read her first little story. Sure it was only filled with three letter "at" words like cat, sat, fat, bat, rat, mat, and pat....but it was still her first time reading on her own!
Needless to say, I am beyond proud of her. I only started really working on the reading thing this past Monday so reading simple words in three days does not seem bad at all to me! I can't wait to continue working on this and witnessing her discover the whole wonderful world that reading opens up. I LOVE to read and I just know that she's going to love reading too. She already has such a great imagination and is such a natural at making up her own stories that I'm positive that she will be a little bookworm and relish all the new places and times that a good book can transport you to in a matter of minutes.
I must admit though, as thrilled as I am that Adrianne has begun to read, a little part of me is sad too because I know it's just one more thing to remind me that my baby is quickly growing up.
