And then comes the rain

It's been a quiet couple of days, in so many ways.

First off, Matt has yet to hear back from the one interview. Although we know he didn't get it, it's still slightly frustrating that the principal said he would contact Matt either way and then didn't.

Yesterday Matt saw another job posted, so quickly applied to it. He got a phone call back like 5 min later, scheduling another interview. He was pretty excited, so he called some other people who were in the TTF program with him to let them know that they should apply too. After he got back from his interview, he said he felt pretty good about the way it went, although he knew that it was extremely competitive. He felt that if he didn't get the job, it wasn't because he did anything wrong, but simply because they decided to go with someone else. Again, they said they would contact him in a couple of days to let him know their decision.

But then today he found out that one of his TTF friends got the position instead.

I know he is disappointed. We are both trying to remain positive and remember that the perfect job is out there for him, and we just have to wait and find it. In a lot of ways, it's okay that he didn't get this last job. It would have been really far away (like 35min drive with out traffic, and possibly over and hour with traffic). But it's still hard not to feel frustrated. It completely blows my mind that a city the size of Austin has no apparent need for any more teachers. We keep seeing articles about how Austin is considered the most recession-proof city in America, how the city is one of the fastest growing in the nation and yet somehow they don't need any more teachers. Oh the irony!

Tonight for the first time in MONTHS it is raining.

Raining hard.

Oh the irony.
