Happy Half-Birthday!

Emmaline is six months old today! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by! Today as she was laying in bed with me, cooing and eating her hands (her favorite past time) I couldn't help but remember how six months ago I was holding her in my arms for the first time, while poor Riley was puking everywhere. (Emmaline picked the night that Riley caught a stomach virus to make her grand debut.)

In the past six months, we have sold a house, said good-byes to our friends and families, moved half way across the country, and watched our little girls get bigger and bigger. Emmaline has gone from a baby-blob that couldn't do anything except poop, cry and eat, to a sweet little girl who is discovering something new everyday. She can now roll over both ways, do baby push-ups where she lifts her head and chest off the floor while she's playing on her belly, spin around in circles while on her belly, hold toys in both hands and bring them to her mouth, babble, is SO close to getting her first tooth, and now can sit up on her own! The sitting up is her latest trick, in the past two days she's been practicing her balance and can sit unassisted for several minutes at a time before she falls over.

And her personality is emerging more and more everyday. She LOVES to screech/yell in the mornings. She is not unhappy, just enjoys exercising her vocal cords! Drives Matt and I nuts! She enjoys playing with her sisters, when they are not right up in her face, HATES getting licked my Mozart, and whines when she is tired and ready for a nap. It's pretty easy to make her smile, but she must have her own sense of humor because it is SUPER hard to get her to laugh out loud.

Every day I am so happy and thankful that I have three, beautiful, wonderful girls that I get to be a mommy to. They have taught me so many things and I know that they will continue to for the rest of their lives. I am SO BLESSED!
