Game Night

One of the girls favorite things to do at night is to pull out their games and have a game night with Matt. They alternate between "Pretty, Pretty Princess" (the Disney Sleeping Beauty version) and Candy Land. It's SO funny to see Matt all dressed up like a princess! But the girls LOVE the attention they get from Daddy while they are playing.

And we've already been able to use game night to teach the girls valuable life lessons. On the night pictured here, Adrianne was winning the game and she was very proud of herself, but then she started to taunt Matt about how she was winning. Of course he told her that wasn't nice, but she persisted, even to the point of calling him a "loser". Well, at that point, Matt, being the good father that he is, told her that she had to stop playing since she was being so mean. Adrianne was so sad and proceeded to cry the remainder of the time Matt and Riley finished up the game. Matt stuck to his guns though and didn't let Adrianne join back in, despite her pleading. Even though she was so upset, she really learned that it is not okay to treat people meanly when you are playing games, and has played perfectly every time since then.
