It's been hopping around our house this week. Matt has started his first official week of his teaching institute and has had to be gone from 8am-6pm. He is also working hard on trying to finish up the church's new website that he designed.
I have been pretty much treading water. I am helping teach a Vacation Bible School next week so I have been trying to prepare for those days. It's always a lot of work helping out with a VBS, but it always ends up being a lot of fun too. Then I am also in the process of taking over leading the children's ministry at our church, so I have been trying to figure out all the ins and outs of that system and get things organized there. In addition to those two things, Matt, the girls and I are eagerly anticipating the arrival of our family members for their first visit to Austin! We are SOOO excited about them coming and I want to make sure they have a great time and the house looks nice. So I have been busy around here too.
I've also been up to a bit of sewing. Recently I've been working on some diapers for Emmaline using some fabric that I've had laying around the house. I decided to go with what is called a "fitted" pattern in hopes that it would be easier for Matt to use so I can get him back on diaper duty! He is intimidated by folding the prefolds, so has pretty much only changed two diapers since I started cloth diapering Emmaline a month ago. But since these are already baby shaped, he doesn't have that excuse any more! Plus, I think they came out cute. They are a cute lavender flower pattern on one side and a matching lavender flannel on the other. They are reversible, so you can put them on either way. My sewing skills are elementary at best, so overall I am pleased with how they have turned out. So far I've made four of them, but I have three more cut out and ready to sew later tonight after the girls go to bed.
