Okay, I really don't care that much about this day. It's such an AMERICAN holiday. Most people in Mexico barely celebrate it...but I digress.
Today Matt took his TExES exam. He feels pretty good about it, however we won't know whether or not he passed until a couple of days. But, now he has the green-light to begin applying to schools for a teaching position in the fall.
He also got the second car inspected. Silly story, but the other day when I was coming out of Wal-Mart to get a few things, I completely forgot where I parked. So I was walking around looking for Matt's car (I drove his car so he would have the baby seats if he needed them), when I thought I finally spotted it. Well, as I was walking up to the car, I noticed that there was a TEXAS sticker in the front windshield, so I stopped and thought "that can't be Matt's car......it has a Texas sticker on it!", and I started walking away. But I thought it was funny cause that car looked EXACTLY like Matt's car, including the bumper being bent out from where Matt got into a fender-bender the first week we were here. (Yes, Matt went out one night to meet up with some friends and while he was out, some guy rear-ended him. There wasn't any real damage done, and our bumper was already messed up, so it wasn't really a big deal.) Then it dawns on me that Matt had his car inspected, and it has a Texas inspection sticker on the windshield because WE LIVE IN TEXAS now. It's funny how my mind is still having a hard time thinking of myself as a "Texan" or "Austinite". But today he got the other car inspected. SO we are one step closer to being "official" residents! Last thing to do is get our driver's license!
