This and That

Max is getting better and better at walking. In fact, he's often walking clear across the living room on his own now.

The older girls and I have been studying plants as part of our science lessons. So far we've sprouted kidney beans which we planted into soil yesterday along with some cherry tomato seeds and cilantro. Hopefully I will remember to water them everyday, otherwise they will surely die in all this heat, and then our science experiments will be ruined.

Speaking of heat, we are on day 69 of 100+ degrees here in Austin. That ties the all time number of days over 100 degrees, and the weather forecast predicts the trend shall continue in the foreseeable future.

Emmaline has had a fever every afternoon/evening for the last four days. Other than being too hot, she is acting and playing like normal. I'm puzzled by this, but not too concerned (at least not yet).

Matt seems to be enjoying the start to his school year and falling right into the swing of things. Oh what a difference the extra year of teaching experience under his belt seems to have made!

I'm suffering from a bad case of the "I wants". It would seem I have a wish list about a mile long of things I'd like to have but can't right now. Sometimes it's just no fun being a responsible adult, but in the meanwhile I will work on being content.

I REALLY need to go to the grocery store, but I'm procrastinating by writing this blog entry.
