Indecision

I need to do school with the girls today. The problem is I can't decide whether it would be best to ease into the school year or just go all out.

Part of the problem is I'm going to have to work out the kinks on juggling Max and Emmaline during school time. Emmaline will be fairly easy as I have a couple of preschool workbooks and coloring books she can do at the table while I'm working with the big girls.

But Max? What to do with him? Sure, I can put him in his high chair and give him a snack. That might buy me a whole 15 minutes. And he's not much of a napper, so even if I time schoolwork with his nap time, that will give me maybe 45 minutes. I can sort of leave him in the living room (it's baby proofed enough that he'd be safe), however he usually doesn't like it when either the girls or I aren't there to play with him.

Hmmmm, what to do???

Day one, down.
Well, we managed to get a light load of most of the major subjects today.

For Riley this includes math, reading, handwriting, science, and language.

For Adrianne this means math, reading, spelling, science, and language.

All in all, not too bad of a day. Max even cooperated by taking a longer nap than usual! So far the girls seem to like all the new curriculum styles, but I will have to work on my lesson planning as there were several hiccups during today's lessons, most caused by my lack of preparedness! Oops!
