Slow Going

Today was a pretty laid back day. The girls and I had to do the grocery shopping for the week but other than that I just worked on cleaning up the kitchen and laundry (you know, the never ending chores) while the girls played.

After I finished working on my projects last night, I was re-reading the directions for staining the bed and I discovered that I didn't sand the wood enough so I had to go back and do that again tonight. This time I made sure that I was wearing a long sleeved shirt, long pants and socks before heading out, so even though I was slightly hotter, I think I might have avoided getting too many more bug bites.

I do have to admit that those who enjoy woodworking must be a group of people who are particularly patient because just having to sand down the wood twice was about to drive me up the wall. And there's not even that much wood involved in this project! I guess I just found it quite time consuming and monotonous. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to start in on the staining, which will also take a couple of days. It's slow going, but I'm really hoping that it all pays off in the end when Riley has a beautiful bed to sleep in!
