So I realized today that it's been quite a while since I've actually done a post that's just about the kids and what they've been up to. I guess I've just been focusing more on all the other stuff that's been going on in our lives.
Since we've been back, Emmaline has become quite the ham. She has started playing more with her sisters and trying to mimic them more and more. She also dances around and makes silly faces/gestures. I really need to try to catch her on video sometime when she is in one of her playful moods because it really is quite hilarious to watch. She's also had a BIG vocabulary increase since we returned home. She has a bunch of new words and everyday she says something I haven't heard before. One of my favorite things she says now is "Sorry" whenever she bumps or runs into something or someone.
Riley has been having some attitude problems lately. Mostly she just wants to be the boss and gets sort of bent out of shape when I have to remind her that Mommy and Daddy are the bosses in this house. She will also remind Adrianne that, "Your NOT the boss of me!" if Adrianne tried to tell her what to do. But for all the time outs we've had to do lately she is still my sweet girl. She has also recently taken more of an interest in my pregnancy. She is constantly wanting to come up to me and rub my belly or asking if Little Brother is awake. If I tell her he is sleeping, then she so lovingly tries to shake him awake. I'm not necessarily sure that Little Brother LIKES being shaken awake, but I suppose that he's just going to have to learn early that Riley has a rather unique way of showing affection and love for those around her!
Adrianne seems to be more grown up every time I look at her. She is such a big help around the house and generally does the things I ask her to do with out complaining. As I think I've mentioned before, she no longer wants much to do with princesses, but would rather be a rock star. She's also begun bringing me toys that she used to like to play with and telling me she wants to give them to Emmaline to play with because she doesn't really play with them anymore (for example, the kitchen play-set.), and I have a feeling it's because she's starting to grow up. (Which I know is a good thing, but it's hard for a mom to see!) I just know the next thing she's going to be asking for is make-up and a purse or something like that!
And since I had my appointment today I'll also let you know how Little Brother is doing. Basically it was a perfect visit. Little Brother is head down and chilling out with a strong, steady heartbeat of 140bpm. He squirms, wiggles, kicks and punches just the right amount and appears to be average size for a baby his gestational age.
So that's the scoop on them!
