Yesterday was a very good day.
First off, it was my birthday and I got to sleep-in! That was my birthday present from Matt and it was MUCH appreciated! Secondly, my momma FINALLY got to go home from the hospital, so I had my birthday wish come true! The girls and I also got to go meet up with our neighborhood friends at the park and they played with Aria and Luca while I visited with their mommy, Laura. Then we came home from the playground and had yummy black bean burgers for dinner and of course BIRTHDAY CAKE! I used Great-grandma Genie's recipe and it turned out very well, despite me not having a bundt cake pan.
Today the girls and I went off for the morning to our very first MOPS meeting. MOPS stands for Mothers of Pre-Schoolers and all the people I met there were very friendly and seem quite supportive. I'm hoping that it's another place for me to network and meet new people, and Adrianne and Riley had a chance to make even MORE friends. PLUS they did crafts with my kids which they LOVED. AND I got to make a tie-dyed onesie and tee shirt for Emmaline and I. So not too shabby of a day.
Of course, no day is complete without the girls playing and having a good old time. Today they were playing with their baby dolls and dressing them up. Here's a few pictures of that.
And here is a picture of Emmaline in her "jenny jump-up". It's a toy that hangs from the door frame and has a spring in it so that the baby can jump up and down. Emmaline hasn't figured out how to jump up and down in it yet, but she does seem to enjoy spinning herself around in circles when she's in it. Matt thinks it looks like some medieval torture device, but I think it's too cute and colorful to be one!
