Busy, busy day

Whew it's been a full day around here, and I mean FULL!

I am finally enjoying a few moments to myself now that the house is all quiet.

But I got a lot accomplished today, so I can't complain too much.

First off I had to do bills and all that beginning of the month type stuff. Once I got those mailed off (along with some goodies for our favorite stamp collector), I had to call and get an appointment to catch Emmaline's immunizations back up. She was supposed to have gotten them back when she turned a year old, but that was right smack dab in the middle of the Christmas hustle, so of course it was difficult to find a good time to get them done. Then we went on our trip and like I mentioned in an earlier post, we spent most of January sick, so I didn't want to take her in when I knew her little body was already fighting off all the nasty germies.

But now she is well enough to have to go and get those dreaded shots. I know she needs them and I know they are good for her and will protect her from such horrible diseases that I don't even want to THINK about, but I do hate having to sit there and hold my baby still while someone else hurts her. It feels like betrayal (even though I know it's not). But it must be done, and shall be done tomorrow.

After scheduling the appointment for Emmaline, the girls and I did some school work. Then it was snack time while I worked on making up a grocery list. I know that making up a grocery list sounds like it should be a quick task, however I scour the internet looking at the weekly ads for several of the grocery stores in our area to find the best deals on the stuff we need. It is more work for me, but I do manage to score some incredible deals (red bell peppers for $.49 a piece? I'll take four! Avocados 4 for $1? Yes please!) so it makes all the hunting and extra work worth it.

So after lunch, the girls and I headed out to actually DO our grocery shopping. And let me tell you, my girls are shopping troopers! By the time we got home it was time for me to start working on dinner.

After dinner I headed back out to pick up some household supplies from Walmart while Matt watched the girls. While I was gone, Riley got sick to her stomach (she had been complaining that her tummy hurt almost all afternoon). Matt did a great job of cleaning things up (it got ALL over the carpet in the hallway) but when I got home I had to give Riley a bath because she got some of her hair dirty. Then we put the girls to bed and I worked on cleaning the carpet up some more. I'm still not satisfied with it, but it's better, so I'll just have to keep working on it over the next few days.

Then I cleaned the guest bathroom and mopped the floor in there. Usually our guest bathroom doesn't get a lot of use because we mostly use the master bath, but right now we are having some plumbing issues in there. The cold water faucet to the master shower is stripped so it is impossible to turn on. Since I don't want to scald my children, we had just been using the guest shower/tub until we were able to get it fixed. Then when I was cleaning the rest of the master bathroom on Sunday, I discovered that the toilet in there is leaking. So today Matt called our landlord and the plumbers are scheduled to come out tomorrow and fix everything.

So it's kind of looking like tomorrow is going to be a really busy day too.
