Valentine's and Presidents

Well, Valentine's day has already come and gone.

We've had a busy week. Matt's first full week of school went well. He had two days of benchmark testing (a pre-test so they can gauge how the students will do on the official TAKS test they will take in about six more weeks) then of course he had to do a Valentine's party! Luckily for him, he had a lot of parents who chipped in and brought stuff for the students. Matt also discovered one of the other perks of being an elementary school teacher: gifts. He brought so many valentines cards and pieces of candy home with him on Friday I'm sure we have enough to last at least two weeks!

Valentine's day was pretty low key around here. Matt pick up some really cute stuffed bears to give the girls. They were only $1 a piece, but they were a pretty big hit! Matt and I didn't really exchange gifts this year, but I did cook his favorite meal (enchiladas) on Saturday night. Then on Sunday, the girls had their friend Aria come over for a sleepover. Of course they all had a blast, but they didn't end up actually falling asleep till close to 11! Then Aria is used to waking up early to go to school with her mom (who is also a school teacher) so she and the girls woke up at 6! We had Aria over all day yesterday because both her mom and dad had to work and of course school was out for President's Day.

So that's how we spent our holiday weekend. I've also been very busy working on several new projects. In fact, I've got one special thing I've started making that I just can't wait to share with you all, but I'm going to make you wait anyway! It's just going to turn out SO SWEET I know it! I'm excited!
