(NOT) Feeling Like Fall

Well, even though it's been fall for almost a month now it's still pretty warm here, so I've sort of been stuck in summer mode still. We're still knocking around in shorts, tees, and summery dresses for crying out loud!

But I keep seeing all the fall decorations in the stores and *gasp* even some CHRISTMAS stuff being put out already so I know that it must be cold SOMEWHERE and I figured I'd better get on making sure my kids had some appropriate winter-type clothing to wear!

So I went through all the stored clothing boxes to take inventory of any cold weather items that needed replaced. One handy thing about having most of your kids of the same sex is that you get to reuse clothes over (and over and over) again, which is very nice to my bank account!

Generally, I try to keep the girls' clothes in good condition, making sure to remove any stains as we go, so that much is still able to be saved and passed on down to a younger sibling. It doesn't hurt that (for the most part) the girls are pretty easy on their clothing and only in the last year has Adrianne managed to wear holes in the knees of her pants before outgrowing them. So after taking stock and playing a round of musical-coats, I determined that both Adrianne and Max would need something to get them through the winter. But only two major items for four kids (one of which is a BOY so if money is available, it's nice for him not to have to wear a PINK coat) isn't so bad, is it?

AND...

As luck would have it Old Navy was having a big "Outerwear" sale so I was able to get both Max and Adrianne their winter coats for a very reasonable price.

So, even though it doesn't FEEL like fall (never mind winter!), we're prepared for it!
