The Usual

There's really not much going on right now for us. It's just been business as usual around here. The girls do school, Matt goes to work, I keep up with the house, Max eats and sleeps. You know, the USUAL. However, nothing exciting going on sometimes makes for boring blog posts!

But I'm grateful that my life is boring right now.

Yesterday I got news from a sweet friend in my MOPS group that her son (who's just a few month older than Emmaline) broke his FEMUR!!! It was bad enough that her son had to be put under general anesthesia so that they could set the bone and now he is in a "spica" cast (which she tells me is from belly button to toes) for the next 4 to 6 weeks while he recovers. I cannot even BEGIN to imagine having to deal with that. The girls and I will make some "get well soon" cards for him and I plan on taking a meal over this week so my friend won't have to worry about cooking (she also has a 8 month old baby and 4 year old).

So today I am THANKFUL that there is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary going on in our lives. I will take that any day of the week!

(by the way, if you are so inclined, please say a prayer for my friend's family. It is going to be a LOOOOOOOOONG 4-6 weeks for them as her son recovers. Since he will be unable to sit-up in this type of cast, she will be home-bound while he recovers, and I can only begin to imagaine how hard it is going to be to keep a 2 & 1/2 year old occupied when he can't really move around and all he wants to do is play.)
