I know it's just the first week of school, but I'm already feeling discouraged and overwhelmed by the amount of work we are NOT getting accomplished everyday.
There are just SO many subjects I'd like to cover with the girls, but I am ashamed to say that so far we have only been finishing handwriting and math each day. Pathetic, I know.
Fitting Emmaline's instruction in is proving to be a little more problematic than I anticipated. She is eager to learn and doing beautifully with it, but it's very teacher intensive. It really requires that I pretty much sit beside her and guide her through the entire time. To complete her daily lesson takes about 30-45 minutes.
So far, I have been getting Adrianne and Riley started on handwriting and their math lessons, and then starting to work with Emmaline, all while Maxton is napping and I am keenly aware that THIS is the primary foil of my plan. I am going to have to re-strategize and figure out a way to teach Emmaline while Max is up and awake so that I can concentrate on Adrianne and Riley's studies once he is napping. There will still be a lot of tweaking I need to do to fit everything in, but at least it's a start.
