Today was a good day.

Earlier Matt and I worked on cleaning up our room. If you had seen the mess that it was before, you would know that this was a HUGE achievement! Usually the rest of the house stays fairly clutter free, however, our room has always been the perpetual dumping ground for anything that doesn't seem to belong anywhere else. Part of the problem is that we are usually pretty good about cleaning up around the place so that it will be presentable for others to see, but if we can't find a spot for it, we usually just stick it in our room, since we can just shut our bedroom door and we will clean it up later. Only "later" typically means months pass by before we actually get to finding things a permanent home in another location. So generally our room exists in a state of chaos.

So that's why cleaning it up was such a welcomed change.

It rained today. Basically all day long. That has also been a pleasant change. Since it has been raining all day, it has been overcast outside and that makes the temperatures not climb quite as high as they usually do and allows our poor little AC some down time. Plus I know that all the plants REALLY needed it. Already the grass looks much happier. (Consequently, Matt will also have to mow in a few days, which will not make HIM look much happier! )

Oh and today is the official start of the NFL season.....another reason for Matt to be happy.
