School on the GO!

One of the nice things about being a homeschooling family is the flexibility it gives your schedule. You never have to worry about the kids missing a day or getting behind or even when to schedule trips* and such because you can usually pack "school" up and do it anywhere.

So this week I am taking advantage of that perk and visiting my grandpa and grandma who live in Dallas. We arrived on Sunday night and plan to stay through Friday. It's nice getting in a quick little visit and I know my grandparents are enjoying it too. So in addition to getting to spend time with them (and my aunt and uncle who conveniently live next door), we're also continuing to plow ahead with the girls' studies.

And BONUS is that it's been quite mild temperature wise so we've even been able to go outside and play at the playground lately! This is a BIG deal as we've pretty much been holed-up in the house with the 100+ temps lately.

Other than that, not too much to report. In case any of you were wondering, the historic wildfires plaguing central Texas are so far NOT affecting or threatening our house, however we have many friends at church who ARE. If you are of the praying persuasion, please do so for the safety of those in the fires' path as well an end to the fires in general. Oh and praying for rain couldn't hurt either! We NEED some of that too!

* This advantage is negated if you are married to a public school teacher and you want to travel anywhere as a family, though.
