Isn't that always the way it happens? You are going through life, minding your own business, blink and your children have gone and grown up right before your eyes?
Well, that's just what has happened. Max turned 6 months old and now proficiently army crawls wherever he pleases (including being able to maneuver his way through the obstacle courses I construct to try to contain him), can now sit up on his own, has started eating finger foods, and has two bottom teeth that I expect to pop through any minute now. My baby is sprinting to the finish line I'm afraid and I don't like it one little bit! (Okay, so I DO sort of like it because it's fun watching him learn new things and being proud of himself but I REALLY was hoping I'd get to savor the baby days some more!)
In addition to Max growing by leaps and bounds, Emmaline is leaving the last of her baby days behind as well. Last week we started potty training and by the third day into it she was totally day trained and hasn't had a single accident since. She even says when she needs to go and will take initiative and go all on her own if I'm busy with Max and can't help her at the moment. It's so cute to watch her wander around the house in her little underwear and I've had more than one laugh over her shorts falling down because her butt is too little to keep her pants up! So far, I have kept a diaper on her at night, but so far since we started potty training last week, she has only had one wet diaper by morning time, so I'm thinking we may try sleeping in underwear soon.
Such a bittersweet time to be a mommy.
