Emmaline

Emmaline just undressed Max. He was wearing a button up sleeper and she decided that "Maxin munkey jammas off" as she proceeded to unbutton them all the way. She also tried to take his diaper off, but I told her she couldn't. She then asked, "Why?" So I told her she couldn't take his diaper off because he'd pee-pee all over the place, to which she responded, "Oooooh."

Since Emmaline is getting better at talking it's been fun having little conversations with her. It's amazing what goes through her little mind and how observant she is. She really picks up on very minute details and comments about them. She also has quite the little personality and isn't afraid to stand up to her sisters. I often hear her telling one of the older two "NO!" very emphatically. She also really participates in pretend play with Adrianne and Riley, rather than just observing them play.

One of my favorite things to sit back and watch right now is when Emmaline tries to dance. She really tries so hard to mimic her older sisters and she's actually pretty good at it! It's so sweet to watch though.

Emmaline is also VERY into picking out her own clothes and shoes right now. Currently her favorite shirt to wear is her "Barbie shirt" which is a periwinkle colored shirt with two mermaids on it (and has absolutely NOTHING to do with Barbie, so I'm not quite sure why she started calling it that). She asks to wear it just about everyday, and so long as it's clean, I let her.

And the shoes. She LOVES shoes and is constantly raiding her sisters' closet to wear all their shoes. It's not uncommon for her to pull out three or four different pairs of shoes throughout the day (everything from high-heels to flip-flops). Her current pair of shoes we just bought for her are some pink TOMS which she calls her "sparkly shoes" because they have metallic threads in them that make them sparkly. She will only wear them on HER terms though, and if she doesn't want to wear them at the moment, she will clearly make her preference known by bunching up her toes so that you can't get the shoe over her foot. Little stinker!

She's getting SO big and I have to admit I am kind of sad to see her "baby days" winding down.
